Disposition: impressed

The first trailer for Under the Mountain has been released. For those of you that didn't grow up in NZ, it's a sci-fi adventure story set in Auckland. Think of it as a Kiwi version of 'Race to Witch Mountain'. Kinda.

The movie looks pretty good, and the Wilberforces are a whole lot more scary than the the 80's TV version, though that is mainly thanks to the wonders of CG.

Looks cool! I remember the first time I saw either of the Witch Mountain duo. I always liked the second one best.

I can only comment on here because the director is on my Facebook friends list - I'm actually a bit disappointed! I thought it would be a little less campy and kid-focused, especially at a whopping $11million NZ budget.

They won't make that money back in our market, so hopefully the film is great enough to sell to overseas territories.

I'm not a fan of "Black Sheep" either, but I'll probably check this one out in the movies - although its coming out the same week as "AVATAR" (!!!)

Jedi Squirrels

I think he's talking about James Cameron's new movie. Lots of 3D, CG, and Sigourney Weaver (last time I checked the cast list).

I recall the original Wilberforces scaring the absolute living shit out of me as a kid.

These guys don't really seem like they have the same impact - especially since Oliver Driver is sort of a funny person and is, what, 35? Mr Wilberforce needs to be in his 50s, at least.
